PED2027 serves as a forum for exchanging cutting-edge research and advancing innovations in pedestrian and evacuation dynamic, covering empirical observation and data measurement, theoretical pedestrian flow modelling and statistical analytics, model construction, calibration and validation, numerical simulation and scenario-oriented safety evaluation, pedestrian psychology, behavioral characteristics and human factor research, fire evacuation and multi-disaster safety analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning and data-driven pedestrian modelling, as well as practical implementations for architectural design, facility operation and safety policy formulation.
The defining theme of the conference is the comprehensive investigation of pedestrian dynamic and evacuation dynamic, across fundamental theories, technical methodologies and real-world engineering applications.
Submissions from any discipline which address the topics of the conference were received.
The contributions for oral or poster presentations were selected by peer review based on the scientific soundness of submitted extended abstracts.
All contributions to PED 2027 will follow a unified submission process.
Authors must first submit an abstract and then submit the full manuscript through the conference submission system by 31 July 2027, before the conference. Full manuscript submission is mandatory for all papers, including those intended for oral or poster presentation.
The conference submission system will allow authors to select the journals, if any, to which they consent to having their paper recommended: Safety Science, Journal of Safety Science and Resilience, or Collective Dynamics. Papers will be recommended only to journals selected by the authors.
Before the conference, the Scientific Committee will review all full manuscripts and recommend suitable papers for submission to the journals listed below. To reduce review burdens, committee members are only required to provide numerical scores, with no need for detailed written comments.
